Sara Andon is an internationally acclaimed soloist, recording artist, and educator based in Los Angeles. A versatile and in-demand performer, she appears across a wide spectrum of genres including solo, chamber, symphonic, opera, ballet, contemporary music, jazz, and Broadway. Her work spans major concert stages worldwide, as well as television, radio, film, video game soundtracks, and Disney theme parks.
She is the solo flutist with the cutting-edge contemporary ensemble Brightwork New Music and serves as principal flute with the Los Angeles Ballet, the Los Angeles Film Orchestra, and the Redlands Symphony, under Music Director Maestra Deanna Tham, with Ransom Wilson as Conductor Emeritus. She has also performed with leading Southern California ensembles including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, LA Opera, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.

To Kill a Mockingbird, Beauty and the Beast, Spartacus Love Theme, Hamlet, and Moon River. Her performances include the Kraków Film Music Festival, Rome Film Music Festival, Fimucité (Tenerife), Croatia’s Sound and Film Music Festival, and Soundtrax at the Eastman School of Music.
Career highlights include her 2017 appearance as flute and bass flute soloist in Lalo Schifrin’s 85th birthday gala and recording James Horner’s Legends of the Fall theme with composer and pianist Jean-Michel Bernard. In 2018, she performed with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra for the Varèse Sarabande 40th Anniversary celebration and launched her acclaimed Ennio Morricone recital program with pianist Simone Pedroni, based on her debut Sony Classical album Cinema Morricone – An Intimate Celebration.
In 2022, Sara was principal flute and bass flute soloist at the Walt Disney Concert Hall tribute concert Basil Poledouris: The Music and The Movies, conducted by Mark Watters. In 2023, she was the featured soloist at the Redlands Bowl’s 100th Anniversary Gala concert.
Her latest album, John Williams Reimagined (Warner Classics), produced by Robert Townson, was fully approved and authorized by John Williams himself. Alongside Andon, the trio includes cellist Cécilia Tsan and pianist Simone Pedroni. They have performed internationally in cities including Rome, Kraków, Rochester, Düsseldorf, London, and Paris, with more performances scheduled worldwide.
Another notable project includes Pictures at an Exhibition: The Paintings of Bob Peak, where Sara served as principal flute and a member of the production team. Conducted by Leonard Slatkin and performed by the Los Angeles Film Orchestra at Walt Disney Concert Hall, the project featured ten newly commissioned works and was released as an album on Warner Classics.
A dedicated educator, Andon serves on the faculty of the University of Redlands Conservatory of Music and Idyllwild Arts Academy as Artist Teacher of Flute. She is deeply committed to mentoring and inspiring the next generation through private teaching and masterclasses around the world.
